RESPONSIBILITIES
:
The day to day maintenance of the Company’s S&Q Management System .
The overall control of the documents defined within the system .
Analysing reported Non-conformance and monitoring corrective actions .
Planning and implementing Internal Safety & Quality Audits, and recording the results of Audits, Non-conformance and corrective actions .
The S&QM is the Company’s DPA & S&QM .
AUTHORITY :
Authority for the maintenance of the Safety & Quality Management System, and monitoring the proper implementation of the documented System .
Designated Person Ashore (DPA)

: All departments ashore and onboard regarding Safety matters
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
In order to fulfill the requirements of the IMO’s International Safety Management (ISM) code, the Company has appointed Designated Person(s) Ashore charged with the responsibility and authority for the maintenance of the Company’s documented Safety Management .
Effective implementation and maintenance of the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) .
Organise shipboard safety audits and emergency exercises to verify compliance with the SMS and ensure that any deficiencies so identified are rectified .
Ensure that all non-conformance, accidents and near accidents are properly investigated and reports submitted . Where necessary, direct further investigations, analyse causes and introduce measures to prevent a recurrence .
Monitor shipboard safety and pollution prevention activities so as to ensure safe and efficient ship operations .
Ensure the SMS is understood by sea staff and office employees .
Ensure that adequate resources and shore based support are provided so that each vessel is manned, equipped and maintained so that the vessels operate in accordance with the SMS and with statutory requirements .
Co ordinate with training dept. for all SMS related courses .
Take part in the evaluation and choice of Safety equipment for the Ships and new buildings .
AUTHORITY :
Inform Managing Director to take whatever action is necessary to preserve lives, the ship, property and to protect the environment in cases of emergency .
Report directly to the Managing Director on significant issues within the SMS .
Program SMS review meetings and keep record of same .
Report deficiencies in the SMS to the responsible Manager (at any level) and ensure that corrective actions are promptly effected .
Have ready access to appropriate information from any department / Vessel, he may deem necessary .

Quality Assurance Representative (S&QM)

RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Company’s Quality assurance Representative (S&QM) is charged with the responsibility and authority for the maintenance of the documented Quality Management System .
The S&QM represents the Managing Director in all matters relating to the Company’s Quality Management System with direct access to senior personnel at all times to initiate appropriate actions .
Monitor effective implementation of the Company’s Quality Management System .
Organise Quality Audits to verify compliance with the QMS and ensure that any deficiencies so identified are rectified .
Ensure that all cases of Non-conformance are properly investigated and reports submitted .
Ensure that the QMS is understood by office employees.
Ensure that adequate resources are provided so that each department operates in accordance with the QMS .
Co ordinate with training dept. for all QMS related courses .
AUTHORITY
:
Report directly to the Managing Director on significant issues of the QMS .
Program the QMS review meetings and keep record of same .
Report deficiencies in the QMS to the responsible manager(s), at any level, to ensure that corrective actions are promptly taken .
Have ready access to appropriate information from any department he may deem necessary .
In order to harmonise the changes in Company’s Safety & Quality Management System the S&QM and the DPA shall closely coordinate, when applying any changes to the contents of the documented system .

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maintains close contacts with :
A) Professional societies, shipyards, governmental bodies and other organisations that may be helpful to him in carrying out his duties and responsibilities .
B) Commercial, Administration and the Finance Directors to coordinate activities of all department for overall performance of the fleet .
Represents the company at various national and international forums .
Member of shore based emergency response team . In case of any emergency, he is the first person to be called by Ship’s Masters .
To evolve, in close consultation with the managing director regarding long term and short term objectives of the directorate .
To evaluate operation efficiency of the fleet and suggestions to improve same .
